41 south Aquaculture started farming fish in 2000 with water being diverted through a pipeline form the Western Creek Rivulet. In 2003 the farm was converted to a large recirculation system. A patchwork of wetland grasses, freshwater ponds, dykes, wetlands, marshes and fen set along the western creek rivulet. The wetland is used as a natural biofilter for the salmon farm.
