Blackheath Rhododendron Festival

Springtime is magnificent at Blackheath and each year the local residents celebrate the occasion with the colourful and spectacular Rhododendron Festival. The festival Committee over the years has raised considerable amounts of money, which has been invested back into the local community. The annual Blackheath Rhododendron Festival is held each year in October and November. See the Bacchante Rhododendron Gardens as well.

Parkes Elvis Festival

On the second week in January every year, the town of Parkes comes alive to the sounds of hip-swiveliling Elvis Impersonators. The 5 day Festival Program features a dazzling array of more than 120 individual events. Ceilidh at Segenhoe Inn

Aberdeen and the surrounding area of the Upper Hunter Valley was developed initially predominantly by Scottish free settlers and in honour of that past The Aberdeen Highland Games are held on the first Saturday in July each. The Segenhoe Inn, built by convicts in 1837 and now 172 years old, stages its own Ceilidh on the Friday night of that weekend to start off the celebrations. This is a much anticipated event each year.

Maclean Highland Gathering

Maclean is a very friendly town that is very proud of its Scottish Heritage. The town has a population of only 3,254, which swells to around 6,500 over the Easter weekend, when people flock to the town to attend the annual Highland Games. The games held on the Maclean Showground, consist of Pipe Bands, Solo Piping and Drumming, Highland Dancing and the popular Highland Sports, which includes, caber tossing, log wrestling and tossing the hammer.

The annual OLD BAR BEACH FESTIVAL is a fun filled weekend with attractions and events for all the family. Hyne Tumbafest

Tumbafest is an exciting weekend of food, wine, music and fun for the whole family. Tumbafest showcases local and regional produce, with particular emphasis on (locally produced) cool climate wines. During Tumbafest, Tumbarumba becomes a blur of music and festivities that draw a diverse crowd, mostly festival-goers from NSW, Victoria and nearby ACT. By its end, some 4,500 people have enjoyed the performances of soloists, choirs, cabaret, rock and country musicians.
