Tropical North Queensland is renowned as the place where the lush green rainforest meets the sparkling tropical reef. Cairns, Port Douglas and the other regional towns listed below are the gateways to Tropical North Queensland - Reef and Rainforest - Fun and Discovery. Port Douglas is an internationally renowned tourist destination with many tour operators waiting to book your trip and activity. A few kilometres further north is the intriguing small town of Mossman - the gateway to Daintree National Park, which is the largest tropical rainforest in Australia. Travelling further north again is the famous historic Cooktown, which has fantastic fishing charters. South of Cairns is the towns of Mission Beach and Innisfail.
