Jondaryan is a charming rural township renowned for the famous tourist attraction - the Jondaryan Woolshed and associated Station Village. Jondaryan is located about 40 km from Toowoomba and 170 km west of Brisbane. The Jondaryan Woolshed is well-known as the oldest woolshed in Queensland, and dates from 1859. The associated museum building and collection was established in 1975 to showcase the heritage of Jondaryan Station the surrounding Western Downs Region. You can enjoy watching the sheep shearing demonstrations, see a blacksmith at work, watch working horses and sheep dogs being put through their paces, and sample the billy tea and damper for a real Aussie Outback experience. You can stay overnight in the dormitory or shearers quarters. The major event each year is the 9 day Australian Heritage Festival, held at the end of August. The Woolshed itself is listed by the National Trust.
