Dalby is a thriving service town in the cotton growing area on the Western Downs Region of Queensland, located about 210 km Brisbane, at the junction of the Moonie, Warrego, and Bunya Highways. The Dalby district has rich fertile volcanic soil growing wheat, millet, cotton, sunflowers, sorghum and barley. The area also focuses on stud cattle, sheep, pigs and angora goats. The Dalby town centre has many attractive picnic spots beside the river, parks, wide country town streets and wide range of attractions. Use Dalby as a base to explore all the many attrcations and activities available in the region including bushwalking, exploring and joining tours through the Bunya Mountains National Park and historic Jimbour House. South-west of Dalby lies Lake Broadwater Conservation Park, a popular spot for bushwalking, camping trips and birdwatching.The Dalby Cotton Week in March is the major event.
