Arcadia Bay is one of the four main delightful bays around Magnetic Island. Arcadia Bay enclosed two of the Island`s prominent bays; Alma and Geoffrey Bays. Alma Bay is very popular with both locals and visitors, for swimming, boating and wind surfing. It is patrolled by the Arcadian Life Saving Club on public holidays and weekends. Geoffrey Bay is classified as a Marine National Park Zone, and you can not fish or collect in this bay, but is great for exploring at low tide. There are excellent public amenities at Arcadia Bay such as a shaded children`s play ground, picnic tables, gas barbecues, changing areas and toilets. Alma Bay is also renowned for it`s ANZAC Day Commemorations, when soldiers from the 35th Field Squadron of Reservist Engineers annually re-enact the dawn landing right onto the beach.
